Lund AYA Tournament

  1. Two-three people per team, (One adult angler and up to two youth anglers – 17 yrs. old or younger), proof of age may be required.
  2. All State of Michigan rules and regulations apply, and anyone caught breaking these regulations will be immediately disqualified.
  3. Due to concerns over risk of COVID-19 exposure from individuals congregating in groups. There will be no rules meeting, no awards ceremony and no designated launch site or launch time.
  4. Teams may fish any lakes in Houghton, Baraga, or Keweenaw counties.
  5. Teams are expected to practice social distancing at boat launch sites and while fishing and follow all Health Department and US Centers for Disease Control recommendations related to risk of COVID-19.
  6. Fishing hours will be from 8:00am-2:00pm.
  7. Teams must submit a photo of each youth angler fishing in the event via text message to 906-370-1030. Each youth angler who submits a photo will be entered into a random drawing for the Lund boat package.
  8. Your tether kill switch strap must be worn at all times of travel above idle speed.
  9. Teams must send photos noting the length of a maximum of 5 walleye per team. Each team may submit only one walleye over 23”.
  10. Live release of all fish is encouraged.
  11. Trophies will be awarded in the week after the event for 1st through 5th place of teams with the heaviest weight overall using a standard equation to convert length to weight. In the case of a tie, the team’s heaviest fish will determine the winner.
  12. Everyone must wear their lifejacket at all times.
  13. In order to be eligible for prizes each team must submit a photo of each youth angler and all fish to 906-370-1030 no later than 2:30pm on the day of the tournament.
  14. The Event Director and the Judges decision will be final.
  15. Reported behavior deemed inappropriate for a youth event will be evaluated by tournament officials and may be grounds for disqualification from the random drawing and awarding of trophies.
  16. Registrations may be submitted by mail to the address at the top of this form or dropped of Friday July 24th between 4:00 and 8:00 at the small Pavilion on to the north of the Chassell Boat Launch and on the east side of the park.
